For B2B SaaS billed by card
Company cards get rotated, cancelled when someone leaves, or blocked by a spending limit. The renewal fails, and the admin who receives Stripe's email may not be the cardholder.
What's different in B2B
- The payer isn't always the reader. The email must be forwardable: amount, product, and a link that works for whoever holds the card. Stripe's hosted invoice page does that without a login.
- Spending limits.
card_velocity_exceededmeans a spending limit was hit; a later retry can pass once the limit resets. - Bigger invoices. One annual renewal can be worth a year of a consumer customer: worth four careful emails.
Scope
SaveMyMRR handles invoices Stripe tried to charge automatically (charge_automatically). Invoices sent for manual payment by bank transfer aren't failed payments and aren't touched.
Several Stripe accounts (several products or entities)? Business covers up to five.
